A MONTH OF ART AT THE MANN CENTER OF NC – OCTOBER 5-29, 2023

Sanford, October 1, 2023 – The Sanford Brush and Palette Club (SBPC) is pleased to announce the beginning of ARTSTOBER2023, a celebration of three family-friendly visual arts events at the Mann Center of NC, 507 N. Steele Street in Sanford, NC.

ARTSTOBER2023 is an opportunity for Sanford and Lee County to showcase the talented visual artists of our region in three art shows. Starting with the Student Art Show October 5-7, we feature work by Lee County high school students and their teachers in a judged art competition. The 58th Annual Art Show follows from October 14-21 and celebrates the diverse artwork of SBPC Member Artists. The final exhibition will be the Bowl and Vessel Show October 25-29, featuring pottery and sculpture in the form of bowls and vessels created by regional NC artists.

The SBPC will also present two special events during ARTSTOBER2023, Art After Dark on October 20 from 6-8PM, and Art Angels Day on October 21 from 11AM-3PM. Art After Dark is an opportunity to socialize with this year’s featured artists and enjoy a leisurely browse through the collection at an evening reception. Art Angels Day is an outdoor event with art demonstrations, easy to follow art projects for kids, and a selection of refreshments and merchandise for purchase.

All events take place at the Mann Center of NC, 507 N. Steele Street in Sanford NC. Artists and Community Members may learn more about ARTSTOBER2023 at sanfordarts.org/artstober/. The ARTSTOBER2023 events are graciously supported by Motif Green, the NC Arts Council, the Lee County Arts Council, the McSwain Trust, and with promotional support from Sanford Area Growth Alliance, Downtown Sanford, and Visit Sanford NC.

The Sanford Brush and Palette Club (SBPC) was founded in 1964 with seven members, and has grown to a membership of more than one-hundred forty diverse, talented artists. The SBPC celebrates its 59th anniversary in 2023, and the values of the founding members, who believed that fellowship and education were important to artistic growth, continue to be a theme in the current organization.
